This was excellent. At first, I was pretty nervous about this episode because I fall into the camp of trying not to think about the demonic in order to avoid giving it too much attention, but this was so well done. Learned a bunch and thankful for all of your perspectives on this! Also, I particularly appreciate how Dave mentions the trouble with looking for signs from God, especially in the first thought or response you may have to a prayer or request. That practice tripped me up quite a bit when I was younger and growing in faith.

Loved this episode, definitely have Dave back! As a Protestant convert I was raised to do basically all the things he said not to do so I appreciated the balanced perspective and learned a ton.

Totally late to the party and haven’t gotten the chance to listen till today. I’m a little confused as to what the specific consensus is on Unbound. Maybe there purposely wasn’t one, and it was more of just a commentary on command prayers in general, which I interpreted as absolutely not on anyone but yourself and possibly your children, if they’re said at all. Unbound is pretty popular where I live and I know people who incorporate it into their prayer life often. I interpreted it as a deliverance prayer accessible to laypeople that doesn’t over dramatize, and it seemed prudent as far as deliverance prayers go. But I’m not overly attached to it either. Thoughts?
