I remember one day in college, when I was on a bus and definitely judging another girl for being immodestly dressed. But then, when another person dropped some coins or something, she and I were the two who dove to pick them up. We smiled at each other and had that moment of connection, and it really drove home some of what you’re saying about modesty being a personal thing and not picking at the way others dress so much.
This was the first modesty discussion I’ve heard that didn't make me groan inwardly. Thank you for such a balanced perspective-gave me lots to think over on how to approach this topic as our kids get older.
Emily! Please consider talking about The Family in more detail! I’m watching it now. My reaction is similar to the the reaction I had to some no parts of Shiny Happy People (the 18 kids and counting - Bill Gothard group) which is, “why do documentary makers always think Christians are trying to take over the world? “ 😂
